Setup
To connect the James and James integration, click on the Manage Integrations link in the left sidebar and under the Fulfillment tab find and enable James and James.
Alternatively, search for James and James from the available integration search.
On the setup page, add your James and James API key to connect.
Please note that Order Desk isn’t able to help find or reset your credentials, as they can only be provided by James and James.
Integration Settings
After you have connected the integration, you can apply your preferences in the settings.
Default Mail Class
Select the default mail class you want James and James to use. The shipping method you select will be used for all orders where the method on the order does not match any of James and James' shipping method names.
If you need to apply specific methods for certain orders, match your method names to James and James' names in the Shipping Class Match section below.
After Import, Move To
Select the folder you want orders to be moved into after they are successfully sent to James and James.
You can use one of the default folders already in your store or create your own. Read the Working with Folders guide for more information.
After Shipment, Move To
Select the folder you want orders to be moved into as James and James sends shipment details back to Order Desk.
Automatically Send Imported orders to James and James
If selected, every order that is added to Order Desk will automatically be sent to James and James.
Select this setting only if all orders will be sent to James and James. If any orders will not be sent, or if you need a delay between when an order is imported into Order Desk and when it is sent do not select this and use the Rule Builder instead.
Product Settings
For more information on what these product settings in the James and James integration are for and how to use them, read the Fulfillment Integration Product Settings guide.
Shipping Class Match
If the shipping methods you set up in your shopping cart(s) don't match the shipping method names James and James uses, they won't know what methods you intend for them to use. When this happens, the default mail class applied above will be used instead for all of your orders.
To tell James and James what methods you want them to use, you will need to match your method names to theirs. This can be done in the shipping class match section. For detailed instructions on setting this up, please read through the shipping class match guide.
Custom Order Details
To customize the details or instructions that are sent to James and James for a particular order, you can set the following fields as checkout data or order metadata:
Field Name | Field Description |
signed_for | Default is false. Set on an order-by-order basis, as needed, to true. |
If you are unfamiliar with checkout data, see the How to Work with Checkout Data guide.
