## December 2019

![](https://www.orderdesk.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/november2019-3.png)

Take a deep breath… you did it! You survived Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and you’re in the home stretch to the holidays.

While you’re recovering, you can check out our new [Instagram](https://www.instagram.com/orderdeskrules/) account—we’re **@orderdeskrules** (get it?)—where we’ll be introducing our newest integrations, like this month’s [Ramco Lifestyles](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/638-ramco-lifestyles-integration), [Bolt](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/635-bolt-integration) and [BrightStores Vendor](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/640-brightstores-vendor-integration), giving you an inside look at the Order Desk team, and offering tips and tricks for using the app. You’ll still find important updates about our platform status over on [Twitter](https://twitter.com/orderdeskrules).

You’re probably running out of time on your lunch break, so here’s everything else we released, updated, and fixed this month that we thought was worth mentioning:

* The Search & Replace filter in export templates can use ***EQUALS*** in the place of = if an = symbol is already used in the value to be searched or replaced. For more information and an example how this works, [see the guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/226-export-field-filters#search).
* [Order Modify import templates](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/35-import-spreadsheet#setup) can update the Payment Status on existing orders.
* Checkout data or metadata field links will be clickable in the folder view of orders.
* Using Newgistics as the carrier code on shipments will automatically create a tracking link.
* The Post Order JSON rule action was updated to accept Twig.
* A bug with the Change Customer Address rule action has been fixed.
* If you’re sending a print\_url to District Photo without a file extension on the link, you can [set file\_extension as item metadata](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/347-district-photo#send) to tell them what type of image it is. Order Received at District Photo is a new event in the Rule Builder.
* OPT On Demand had the same file extension feature added so you can use Google Drive links now. We’ve also improved the way we download OPT shipments.
* Dream Junction accepts print\_width, print\_height, print\_xoffset and print\_yoffset with items. Details [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/252-the-dream-junction-integration#submit).
* If you have **Download Extra Item Details** enabled in the BigCommerce integration, it can pull in the variant data for UPC/MPN/Cost.
* For orders sent to CustomGateway, the customer phone number will be sent as the shipping phone number if one isn’t provided. We’ve put a lot of work into making sure CustomGateway tracking numbers are properly pulled into Order Desk for multiple different scenarios.
* Shopify weights will have have better rounding, so, for example, .9954 will simply be 1.0.
* Foxy wasn’t pulling in orders with more than 300 items, so we adjusted how we look at the orders and will take two extra looks to pull in orders with up to 900 items.
* The Logiwa integration was updated to use their new API, and the inventory sync feature was improved.
* The option to sync inventory was added to the TradeGecko integration.
* Dubow can send item-level shipment updates so order can be fulfilled with more than one shipment.
* DHL Standard shipping method was added to PDR.
* InterestPrint was updated to use webhooks so you’ll get shipment details quicker.
* If you need to send an alternate order number to ShipStation, use a checkout data field called **AlternateOrderID**.
* BrightStores improved how they receive shipments, so we’ve updated our integration to support this.
* Hot Topic was added as a CommerceHub vendor.
* Walmart orders will show the **Required Ship Date** and **Delivery Date Fields** in the order metadata to be used or referenced in Order Desk.
* DHL Sweden was added to Ongoing WMS, the shipment check is more efficient, and items that shouldn’t be picked can have **NotPicked** set on them. Details [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/633-ongoing-wms-integration#submit).
* UPS Mail Innovations was added to Falcon Fulfillment.
* The return address used on EasyPost labels can be customized on a per order basis. Details [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/74-easypost#return-address-override).

See you next time, *The Order Desk Team*

## November 2019

You found your way to Order Desk because it saves you time, which is why we make an effort to inform you about these new features, and October was full of them!

**Highlights**

Our first highlight is one that gives you more control over your inventory. If you have multiple Order Desk stores, you can now [push your inventory from one store to another](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/636-how-to-sync-inventory-between-order-desk-stores) and keep those products synced. Also, if you think custom buttons are useful, then you might have noticed that having too many can clutter the page. This [new dropdown feature](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/394-how-to-use-custom-buttons#dropdown), which lets you organize them, is all for you.

**New Integrations**

Fulfillment services [Logiwa](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/625-logiwa-integration), [Ongoing WMS](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/633-ongoing-wms-integration) and [NetSuite](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/634-netsuite-integration) were added, as was [3dCart](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/631-3dcart-integration) to import your orders, and you’ll see that [Precision Crystal](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/637-precision-crystal-integration) and a rebooted [Printed Mint](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/260-printed-mint-integration) are the latest print additions.

**Shipping Updates**

Without a moment to spare before the holidays, there were a lot of shipping improvements made. You can [add package dimensions](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/293-shipstation-new#detail) to orders for ShipStation, use EEL PFC values in Canada with EasyPost, carrier info sent to BigCommerce will be more accurate, partial shipments from FedEx Supply Chain won’t cause headaches if any items are skipped the first time around, and Etsy has a special setting to send yourself a BCC on shipment notifications, which we can enable on your store if you want.

That’s not all! Turns out Shopify allows multiple shipping methods on an order (we don’t get it either), so, in response, Order Desk will be able to choose one over the other. If you need this, we can show you how it works. Walmart surprised us with an unexpected FedEx shipment code causing mayhem. We cleaned that up, and while we were there we improved how we check their errors, too.

**Other Integration Specific Updates**

Squarespace is easier to connect to and will notify Order Desk about canceled orders. CommerceHub can accept [inventory reports for bundles and replaced SKUs](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/371-inventory-quantities#replace), and their orders can be canceled from Order Desk. And (we’re sensing a theme) VeraCore orders can be canceled from Order Desk, but the CancelOrder permission must be added to the API user in VeraCore for it to work. Houzz will bring in discounts, Magento got its own [country filter](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/25-magento#settings), and check the rule builder for a new SPOD event for out of stock notices. Custom Gateway was upgraded to API version 2.2, which comes with the ability for all status updates to show in the order history.

**Bug Fixes**

Speaking of which, if you noticed the order history API search wasn’t working, that’s been fixed, as has a Dropbox link problem with InterestPrint, the inventory sync for B2B/Canada NewEgg, and a bug where a custom return address without a name prevented the address from working.

**Order Desk Updates**

New native Order Desk options include the ability to hide prices from reports, use the folder\_name Twig value which can be referenced in rules, exported files can be sent with the [full or abbreviated state name](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/19-build-export-templates#custom-fields), and tracking URLs will be created for PostNord/PostDK. Mostly, though, we made background improvements to speed up the system. If you didn’t even notice, that means they’re working!

Our hope is that you find value in this monthly update and are learning new ways Order Desk can help your business with as little impact on the hours in your day as possible.
{% endupdate %}

## October 2019

This month, we introduced **six new integrations** and made a number of other satellite improvements, but first…

### The holidays are coming!

Yeah, we cringe when we hear Dominick The Donkey on the radio before Halloween too, but we’re here to remind you that **it’s not too early to start talking about how Black Friday and the December holidays will impact your business.**

If you’re in ecommerce (that’s you!), then you’re probably expecting a sales boost. We’re here to help you get ready for the holiday rush and handle any changes you’re planning to make before then. Don’t wait until the last minute to ask for help, because we get busier during the holidays just like you. It’s our business to save you time and stress, so if we can help you out, sooner rather than later, the Q4 rush will be a leisurely stroll down Santa Claus Lane.

### Out Of This World New Features

Those of us not [storming Area 51](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Storm_Area_51,_They_Can%27t_Stop_All_of_Us) ? were building new features for you! This month, you’ll find new shopping cart integrations with [Four51](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/620-four51-integration) (no relation to Area 51… \*or is there? \*?) and [Printify Supplier](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/622-printify-supplier-integration) for those suppliers who receive orders from Printify (this is *not* a print integration!), two new print on demand integrations ([Peecho](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/619-peecho-integration) and [CASE](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/616-case-integration)), [Finale Inventory](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/621-finale-inventory-integration) for your inventory management needs, and the payment gateway [Sage Pay](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/623-sage-pay-integration).

Here’s everything else you’ll find this month:

* The WooCommerce integration has an optional new API connection. **Fair warning** ? this connection is *not* as reliable as our normal connection because it requires all recent orders to be downloaded instead of downloading by the date the order was modified (trust us, downloading by the modified date is more reliable!) We say this to let you know that even though this is a new option, we don’t recommend that you use it unless you have a good reason to. If so, and if you have questions, you can respond to this email and talk to us about it.
* JVI has more shipping method options for UPS and FedEx. We can also beam in multiple tracking numbers for a single order.
* The Shipwire integration got itself a test mode. You can also set **ChannelName** as [checkout data](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/118-shipwire#customize) if necessary.
* Qualtry and embroidery are like needle and thread—they go together sew well. You can set [thread color, font and personalization](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/432-qualtry-integration#send) for your embroidery products. ?
* If you use a third party shipping account number on your orders for VeraCore, you can also use **ThirdPartyType** as checkout data. You will only need to do this if your fulfillment service asks you to set a specific number for the type. When not set, the default is 4.
* If you have Etsy orders that don’t need a tracking number when they’re fulfilled, set **n/a** or **untracked** in the tracking number field and the order will be marked as shipped in Etsy. ![](https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/AcMsD8OosBNNWDNOFA4SdJVD_8S-tu2KwnmuVOsRM1bt0nXDduczji7TACOo2CFlsbDn-2K9kxCUTd-QMxlWg9Yxw-jKT3qs3nz8x6B42P0HXyVif8LYTN1z4H6PCIa9PkyFuh5n)
* Got more than one connection to the same ShipBob account in Order Desk? Make sure you’re sending tracking numbers to the right solar system by using webhook redirects. [Here’s](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/279-shipbob#redirects) how that works.
* Set **skip\_prices=1** as order metadata to set prices to 0 before sending an order to ShipStation.
* Good news if you use Sellbrite—you can filter out unwanted Open orders based on the payment status. Details [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/607-sellbrite-integration#settings).
* Reports can be sorted alphabetically by SKU: ![](https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/ROdZ5PbEA3FIuzbNWux0jC8Jdo5RyytK_GYxN0WgKqs1Yg8MH3hOf1m_ENq_LUEjTqa05Eg2NgGys9-94BM_1Py0Nm3hUM5nPisa-e2oCz-R97_bDqbfDXkkJk5w4ZofJzRiQQJN) And variations in reports can be sorted by name if you group by **Product Variation Field** and click on the **Name** header on the report to reorder the results.
* There’s a new Twig filter that sorts the info in your email and order document (receipt) templates. Use **custom\_sort** with the field you want to sort, for example: custom\_sort(‘name’) or custom\_sort(‘code’). Using desc will also work, for example: custom\_sort(‘quantity’, ‘desc’).
* ShipStation Order Import will bring in the customer phone number if one is on the order. ?☎️?
* You can set your Trello email address in the **Email Delivery Override** field of an email template to have order details sent to a Trello board. *Orbit* you didn’t know about that! If you need help implementing this, let us know by responding to this email. ![](https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/Yu1aOFfHWifHfBm5kpGYYup6P-Wp73aCodqqYvDIikV-xIFXoQPbw8hIuuK6wvRJvIjMPqoybR2aXEcEItwY0XQ5N_RTK2xYkcLbGAV3ME9-aXjalGnFPkDN-v2KWqcxV3Cz5ovO)
* Add [{weekdayname}](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/19-build-export-templates#details) to the file name of an export template and it will include the day of the week the file was exported.
* For EasyPost labels, we’re martian forward with new options. If there is a variation or item metadata field called **declared\_value**, that value will be used instead of the subtotal for the declared value field for shipments. Also, you can hardcode the carrier declared value, if different from the order total, for FedEx shipments using CARRIER\_INSURANCE\_AMOUNT as [checkout data](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/267-create-labels-with-easypost#defaults).
* The Shopify integration was updated to support their new functionality for paging and API versioning.
* PhotoUSA was bitten by a radioactive printer and fell into the Printer-verse. You’ll see their new brand around Order Desk as Printverse now. ?
* We helped Catalyst out by updating how we send PRESHIP details so their system can access your x-files.

### UF-Oh No

Things go wrong sometimes: that’s not an alien concept. Luckily we didn’t see too many errors in September. ? We fixed the ones we sighted and made some other small changes too:

* BigCommerce per-address taxes should be working now.
* The partial refund rule action got an update so it’ll, you know… *work*. ??
* If you tried to cancel an order at Jondo Global through Order Desk and were told that it failed, that was an unidentified failing object. ?It’s been fixed.
* Magento2 is better equipped to pull in product attributes.
* A bug affecting the incoming customer billing addresses for Shipstation Order Import has been zapped.

See ya next time! *The Order Desk Team*

## September 2019

Grab your monogrammed backpacks and shirts printed with your kids’ names and grades on them—it’s our second favorite season in ecommerce: Back to School! ?

![](https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/YovbJXTJnHYjn3_jegPpAwjvxKz3WdZpu4ELJFKayvxfzSr1VlvxhvJZghHd8pjLo6W8eQDOF7Sys0ojTaQla94dWrvejQKH8mGe1kX58brFNOP4dCvbpx6W5vKKI8ngxBCyNApo)

But, there are some things you can’t buy from a store, like the brand new ability to **add an XML file as an attachment to emails sent from Order Desk**. Gone are the days when PDF was your only option. If your supplier needs an XML file, now you can create and attach this automatically with a template and a rule. Want to be *schooled* in how to do this? Learn more about that [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/612-how-to-create-a-text-or-xml-file).

September is also the time when we start thinking about the most magical time of the year… Black Friday and the December holidays. If we can do anything to help you set up your store to get ready for your busy season, reach out to us soon with your thoughts. If you wait too long to ask for help, we’ll be as busy as you, meaning we may not be able to help as quickly as you might expect!

### Improvements and Updates

* Have you been wondering why some of your Amazon orders have some generic “No Name” customer information? There’s a good reason for that, but it’s not something we’re able to fix; Amazon recently made a change to their data security policy requiring certain connected services to anonymize their customer data. What this means for Order Desk is that Amazon Marketplace orders will have the customer info removed after 30 days. Also, all FBA/AFN orders that are imported directly into Order Desk will no longer show this information at all.
* Amazon Marketplace orders will no longer have tax added to them for states where Amazon is the Marketplace Facilitator. Not sure what that means? [This info](https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=202211260) from Amazon explains it better than we can in three lines.
* New UK carrier alert! Whistl tracking URLs will now be created automatically in Order Desk if the carrier code used is Whistl.
* If you use EasyPost to create shipping labels in Order Desk, there’s a new option to add endorsements by setting **EASYPOST\_ENDORSEMENT** as checkout data. See [the EasyPost guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/267-create-labels-with-easypost#defaults) for your options.
* Moving on to EasyPost Fulfillment (*fun fact: did you know this isn’t the same integration as EasyPost?*\* It’s not! Same company, different services\*), the customized EasyPost tracking link will be downloaded with shipment details if one is there. We’ve also polished up how we pull in inventory so that barcodes are ending up where they’re meant to be.
* We’ve become even more persistent with BigCommerce and will make sure line item data gets added no matter what. ? If there’s a connection error, then we’ll try again because we don’t give up. We also smashed a bug that prevented us from updating the [status change](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/53-bigcommerce#import-by) when the updated status didn’t match the download settings in the integration.
* Data imports through the Zakeke integration are more reliable.
* The CommerceHub integration now includes Macy’s and Bluestream. Additionally, we made a few more updates to it so you can sync your inventory counts back to CommerceHub, which also includes a whitelist filter where you can tell Order Desk which products should be sent back to which vendors, if not all. Find more details about using these features in the [CommerceHub guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/600-commercehub-integration).
* RU ready for this? 3PL Central totally wasn’t ready for it, so we fixed a problem with sending the RU country code in orders sent to them. ![](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/oZBtK6H5jDP59mgbDvYcyuyMOuLzXTB_HaOHZhqjlRYqUo3ckIT9T252zMfc75p4KLdt1AHSDAYWdE87TiXFQVwaYMhLg-9bfbUoV_9PU_lRHMJt_xKkU6kvJLVhSOzJghg9NTe4)
* If there’s an error when you try to send an order to Just Vision It, the message will be more clear now letting you know what the problem is. Not sure if you’re getting an error or not? The admin on your account should receive an email with the error information, but you can always look at the Order History down near the bottom of the page on any order in Order Desk to see what’s going on with it. Check out those messages so you know what’s going on with your orders! Oh yeah, we’re also limiting file sizes that are sent to JVI to 75MB. Files over 75MB will cause an error, and the order won’t be submitted. If you do a better job of sizing your files than we are doing of sizing this update, you won’t have any trouble.
* Sometimes having a longer email address is unavoidable, but sometimes that’s a problem. We discovered that Catalyst can’t accept an order if the email address is longer than 40 characters, so we’ll start omitting the email address from the order details if it’s too long.
* When Ecwid sends a file with an order item, we’ll grab it for you and make sure the link to the file is displayed in the item metadata.
* The shipment check process for Clothes2Order received some improvements2help make things more reliable.
* The eBay integration now lets you choose the order number format you want to display in Order Desk. You can see your options in the [eBay guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/130-ebay#settings).
* We’re getting ready to upgrade to Walmart’s new v3 API with some required inventory feed updates. It’s almost time to remove v2.
* Grouped submissions can now be done with 4over, so your submissions will never have to be alone again. ![](https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/ZcRllbOFc06Y_6cile7bfY57in35MWO37eL3bl0js_KslVxcU7hP6wJyVKEzJ1O0YjAiLa-KZK0BmtQl5DLMGIhjyvjEe6MSk0blfh7iJN9qdtK-ge1AzJzHlP68li_inIDTEfCq)
* Standard shipping is now supported by the PhotoUSA integration. We also fixed a mistake with how we were sending packing slips to them.
* There’s a new custom setting for OIA Global and MINC. If you have items that you don’t want sent to them but splitting orders or using Product Code Skip won’t work, you can apply a new item metadata field called oiagloba\_skip|1 or minc\_skip|1 to those items and Order Desk will know not to include them in orders that are submitted. See the [OIA Global guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/206-oia-global#custom) or the [MINC guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/487-minc-integration#custom) for specifics.
* Did you notice any shipment errors coming back from Shopify in the last few weeks that didn’t seem quite right? Yeah, we did too! That shouldn’t happen anymore. Oh, and btw, if you import your products from Shopify, barcodes will now be included.
* If Jondo Global gives you a custom shipping type, you can now set that on your orders with the [ShippingMethodOverride value](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/319-jondo-global#submit) as checkout data or order metadata.
* Spoke Custom got a Shipping Class Match upgrade complete with more options for you. If you’re reading this and you still don’t know what Shipping Class Match is or how it works, it’s time to learn! Here’s your [Shipping Class Match 101 lesson](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/235-shipping-class-match) for today, which applies to all integrations with a shipping class match feature.
* The Cimpress integration now supports embroidery.
* SmartyStreets will now retain residential information if you have the Save Extra Metadata option enabled. So smarty! ?
* Magento2 now accepts more than a single shipment on an order.
* We’ve added a couple of wildcard values to the app:
  * Use % in your email search to find partial matches:![](https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/vilYYaCdr1RkyFNrShfLCxRanSZSasg80lUa5J96R_MwB1S3hMcaf3d7aTzniBBUZHf1DQtzPApisvF45Id5NcvryqT1tRxdoVOtg-kKovmbdhX-uDo0lWQ9kcEyO0ScK33_fdOm)
  * Use the \* symbol in Product Code Skip to skip SKUs that contain the wildcard SKU. Details [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/193-product-code#skip).
* If you’re all about that Twig, you can now use the random function. [Here’s](https://twig.symfony.com/doc/2.x/functions/random.html) how that works.
* Many of the alerts and confirmations around the app should be looking a lot nicer now.

Have a great Back to School season, make lots of new friends, and most importantly, have fun. Your Order Desk parents are very proud of you!

*The Order Desk team*

**The Rule Builder Got a Face Lift!**

![](https://files.convertkitcdnl.com/assets/pictures/174861/2344530/0.png)

Over the last few months, we’ve been laser-focused on reimagining how to make the Rule Builder easier to understand so that sorting, duplicating, changing, and creating rules is much easier to do. We’ve also added some new features, like rule searching, event collapsing (if you have a lot of rules), and a trash can for deleted rules.

Custom Buttons and Custom Events are easier to create and manage, and there are new fields for filters and events so you don’t need to fuss with those confusing pipes (|) between names and values. We hope you find the new Rule Builder easier to use and that it improves your experience with Order Desk. If you have any feedback, we’d love to hear from you!

**Seeing Double Seeing Double**

We released a long-requested feature from our power-users: the ability to copy a store. Folders, rules, email and receipt templates, import and export templates, and store users will all be duplicated to the new store.

If you want to add a user to multiple stores, you can now do so from the Store Users page:

Here’s the full rundown of improvements and fixes from this last month:

**General App Updates**

* The search tool is now more powerful than ever! The main search box can be used for ultra-fast order number searching, and general search is available from the advanced search menu (which allows the order search to be as fast as it is).
* You’re only human (we hope), so we added a few safety features. For instance, folders and templates that have rules attached to them can’t be deleted. If you need to delete these, delete the rules first.
* Reports can now be run on the order source: ![](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/CJZBbcV4Pcq3CrL8Cf9CXMpFzliLlnNvrjG-5j1cI2P2wAXCzS1NzCya0n9E3tPTN03ZnI4BzWwhnEY1UEaZgS1ETGFX22LhffuKYWBwLD0Q_NGEoLr7z2moHkDjYArdKX9Wt6W6)
* Speaking of reports, we’ve added some secret ?SKU sorting options. Let us know if this is something you’d like to try out.
* If you re-order your folders, you’ll see those changes happen in real-time in the sidebar.
* Need to quickly remove checkout data or order metadata fields? Now you can do so with rules.
* We’ve got new rule filters to sort by Return Address State and Return Address Country.
* It’s the little things. ? When adding a shipment, if you add a tracking number and then press **Add More Fields to Shipment**, the focus will automatically be on the carrier field.
* Added the ability to prevent prices from being split when splitting orders. Let us know if this is something you need, and we’ll hook you up.
* A new length comparison option has been added to filters so you can take action if a certain field is longer or shorter than the number of characters you set in the value: ![](https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/NPrcMNPNZkEOd6XfKZtJ79-DUZx3wAVU0LsxL4UNokZTFg62nfPycum2GlmoSC3tcSzWtBs0sMNthYRE7x5qO27TwRuaRU_Q-f_InwxFlrg_HKvALaJCyqA-F2WMOxeujVvCCWD3)
* Google Chrome got pretty aggressive with their auto-fill feature, targeting some of our form fields and filling in email addresses in some ridiculous spots. We made some adjustments to keep this from happening… but *come on*, Google!

![](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/r3iW6Del5hA6_7m5sUZnu4D0lx7OGik5TT1unGzktGm5uBjK05T_OLHhPiA0OP0BtIoyS4RQ7gxK0Ok-ycMj3pQOoX1r0qtCGGJYVD9E8Lmhhe_4tLLafbQMLcqP102_6SdPWLcH)

* Do you have links in your checkout data? Well, now they’re clickable!
* Have you noticed that we made some visual improvements to the app with nicer prompts and fresh icons? ✅

**Integration-Specific Updates**

* ShipBob can now [accept email addresses](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/279-shipbob#settings) with orders, and we’ll also include a phone number if one is there. Shipments will include more details due to some improvements on how we listen for shipment info from ShipBob.
* The Cimpress integration now supports orders containing non-customized items.
* Amazon Marketplace has a few updates this month:
  * Shipment submissions are more reliable, and you’ll know if there are any errors or warnings when shipments are submitted.
  * We’ll be saving tax details on line items in case they’re needed for reports.
  * To help make your printing process even easier, we’re saving more item customization details.
* There’s a new shortcut feature in the EasyPost Fulfillment integration for pulling barcodes in with your items. It’s convenient, but it does have some limitations. To learn more, you can read about it [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/502-easypost-fulfillment-integration#barcode).
* Error messages that say very specific things like “❌**Error: there was an error.**” are very helpful, right? Well our WooCommerce error messages will now be more clear on connection pages so you’ll know exactly what’s up.
* A couple quick updates for Fujifilm this month. First and most importantly, we fixed up some shipment check problems that were really…*bugging*\*…us.\* ? Now this integration also supports UPCs.
* The shipment webhook feature for Spoke Custom got some improvements for more reliable shipment processing, and it will better handle empty state/region fields for international addresses.
* Just Vision It is twice as nice this month—you can now add a second print URL on an item.
* ?*Ring Ring* ?Hello? ?Hi! Does your OIA Global order not contain a phone number? No? Don’t worry, now a backup number will be sent with the order if one isn’t already there. ?I’m sorry, who is this? ?***Call Ended***
* You now have the option to use both shipping labels and retailer labels with the Centrics integration. The [Centrics guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/417-centrics#submit) has more info on how to do this.
* If you have have multiple Magento 2 Store IDs that you want to download orders from, now you can with the [Store ID List](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/186-magento-2#settings) filter! ???
* ?Hautica was added to the list of OneFlow providers.
* Let’s Go2 these DTG2Go updates:
  * Now supports X and Y print offsets. Details in the [DTG2Go guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/242-dtg2go#submit).
  * Underbase metadata improvements were made.
  * Sped up order submission by lowering the number of orders submitted at once, which should result in fewer timeouts.
* TradeGecko has a country filter now, so you can choose which orders are imported into Order Desk. Check out the [TradeGecko guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/577-tradegecko#settings) for more details.
* Who knew there were so many shades of gray? We updated the Dream Junction integration to offer improved support for gray color names during the automatic color conversion process.
* We’ve bumped up MWW’s legacy shipment pull timeline to 10 business days to help make sure we don’t miss anything. We also improved our webhook support.
* We hit the books and improved our logic when it comes to downloading product details from BigCommerce. ?
* You won’t find any square pegs in round holes here; our inventory matching functionality with [Joor](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/576-joor-integration#item-identifier) is now better than ever.
* Teamwork Athletic got a [staging environment](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/497-teamwork-athletic-integration#setup) so you can test everything before you go live. You can also now send multiple line items in each order.
* If you need to tell Etsy that orders are shipped without providing tracking numbers, there’s a new rule action that will allow you to do it.
* In what is perhaps one of the greatest unsolved mysteries of our time, Walmart will sometimes inexplicably send an invalid token error when shipments are sent to them. ?️ Since we can’t solve it, we’re sidestepping it entirely by sending the shipment info again whenever that occurs.
* If you fill out the Description2 field in 3PL Central, it will be pulled in and added to your inventory details so you can keep it handy.
* ✨ShineOn is a bit shinier this month, with a more reliable connection due to an improvement to the way we export name fields.
* In a hurry? VeraCore now accepts rush orders and third-party shipping accounts. We’ve updated our [VeraCore guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/12-veracore#notes) if you’d like to learn how.
* Try, and try again! We’ve made some improvements to our retry logic whenever a timeout occurs with FedEx Supply Chain.
* We identified an issue that prevented some new EasyBill orders from importing, so we nipped that in the bud.
* Is there such a thing as too many updates? We don’t think so! You can now create designs dynamically with the Scalable Press integration ([details here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/349-scalable-press#dynamic-printing)), which includes new item level options for width, height, and print offset. But we didn’t stop there, you can also now see a list of all available product and print\_skus right from your integration settings page! And that’s not all….oh wait, actually that’s all this month.

Do you think we had enough updates? ?

See you next month! *The Order Desk*\* Team\*

### Updates and Fixes

* Our ongoing rollout of the Inventory Location Filter continues! ?It has now been added to [Amazon](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/50-amazon#inventory-location-filter), [Magento](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/25-magento#inventory-location-filter), [Magento 2](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/186-magento-2#inventory-location-filter), [BrightStores](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/368-brightstores#inventory-location-filter), and [eBay](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/130-ebay#inventory-location-filter).
* If you have the same Wemalo account connected to multiple Order Desk stores, you can set up redirects for the notification URLs. This ensures that the shipment info gets back into the correct Order Desk store. [Read the guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/471-wemalo-integration#redirects) for instructions.
* Do you have a shipment yet? Do you have a shipment yet? PDR’s shipment check frequency has been increased. Do you have a shipment yet?
* We’ll take a big refresh of the [DTG2Go](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/242-dtg2go) integration to go, please. It has some new features and a few under-the-hood improvements allowing it to function more like other print integrations.
* Oneflow can now accept new print attributes. For details, see the [Oneflow guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/217-oneflow-integration#items).
* We’re always working on improving our ShipStation integration, and this month is no different. Here’s what we did:
  * ?We’ve made even more internal optimizations.
  * ❌Error messages will be a little more clear.
  * ?If you have a partner key from ShipStation, there’s now a place for it in both [ShipStation Import](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/431-shipstation-order-import-integration#settings) and the regular [ShipStation](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/293-shipstation-new#setup) integration.
* 3P Logistics now supports line item pricing and multiple currencies. The default currency is GBP, but you can change this on individual orders following the instructions [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/565-3p-logistics-integration#custom).
* If you’re using Spoke Custom and enjoy variety, *wheel*, now you’ve got more shipping methods to use!
* Great Scott! We’re back to the future with ShipHero. If you need to update your orders after they’ve been sent to ShipHero, use the new **Update Order at ShipHero** rule action. The best way to set this up is to create a [custom button](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/394-how-to-use-custom-buttons), which would look like this: ![](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/RSFfWWj9CgpLCXWEu667ehilG-Wtc_hJEYk9TnrMduKLO_qTSEFwUzOlwXafPfLqIL7mH4tcobXztY50RVNZU6UjY_f4Jy4V9cyAJtHbyMbBFAS8YK2ndT5NrB6p7VOW_u_Zq0xF)
* We noticed that getting shipments from Casestry was a real mystery, but after listening to some sad songs, going for a long walk, and indulging in some junk food, we finally cracked the case.
* Nobody likes an oversharer but we heard that sometimes a little TMI is exactly what you need, so the Rule Builder got a new action this month to convert a state or region abbreviation to its full name. ![](https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/75UtwK43ZFkz4unbkrKjkdNzo3nIiVMaHxpvFjABqIF9Iu6WScZ9RrTyBKrY4_ldONVctPlypdINLFJGfAOZ5Iqodrx8kxSUPcCBg9JqcR9-gzXmQ8w6dNlAc0r5zRxL7lxvVzaH)
* If any item in an order either isn’t meant for or set up for Cimpress to print, you will now get an error telling you there’s a problem that needs to be fixed. Once taken care of, you can send the full order to Cimpress.
* If you’re using Globegistics or Warenpost for shipments, we can now automatically generate their tracking because you deserve something nice. ?
* We’ve improved the process of building SKUs from colors for CustomCat. ![](https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/IKdfZ82J9gYuKoG-1ZkwL540xllAipsxSohVvXio6Dy511s0yc67A69SZKH_VtzBiPasK9qtQ1iGJOQFPQb_b6a0NvLr-9FbCkk8pTk59-YzGvZqcguKixcSChfi4nziNIfY445J)
* You now have the option to set a different source/store on orders being sent to BDLinx. The default is Order Desk, but if you need to send something different, follow [these instructions](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/447-bdlinx-integration#order-details).
* Store credit from BigCommerce will now show up in the order details. You’ll see it as a discount in the order total.
* Third-party shipping with Jondo Global got a few tweaks, so it will work even better. ?
* We’ve updated our Stuller integration to a webhook-based system for quicker and more reliable shipment notifications.
* Our FedEx Supply Chain integration received some improvements to help keep track of what’s in each fulfillment. That’s probably kind of important.

That’s everything for this month! *The Order Desk Team*

[Introducing orderdesk.com](https://www.orderdesk.com/announcements/announcing-orderdesk-com/) Way to bury the lede, right? Our biggest update this month has .me thinking that .you may have noticed we are now orderdesk.com. This was an important acquisition for us. See what it means in this post.

### Updates and Fixes

* We cleaned up some of the language in the Store Settings menu so it’s a little more intuitive. What does normalize capitalization even mean, anyway? You can see those changes in your store, or take a look at them [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/27-store-settings#details).
* Rejection is always hard, so we’ve been working on how we handle errors from ShipStation. We’re trying not to take it personally. Sometimes we just want different things out of life, ya know?![](https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/2mMwVmruQRL3KQcYzjk6Yw2uZE8TU6ZM6PBpdB3TF1Bgyfq_ImqHTZW9YiVRiX8WeMpiyZ0vXzZ4lXsI8z6rn11G-RP_T9OPQ7dfeHySBZkqW0nhaw2ncQrPdkTyx0LsqjJhRVh6)
* Shipment notifications can be sent back to SPS Commerce if required.
* The Shopify tax rate can be set individually per line item. If you need this enabled on your account, let us know.
* If you work with Dubow, you’ve got two new options. One, Order Desk can build your print\_sku for you as long as you have the right product code in your print\_sku field and the right variations set on the item. Two, you can build your own print\_sku out of the product code and variations. In fact, if you want to do that, we trust you, so we made it possible this month. Set **print\_sku\_override|1** on your items to tell Order Desk to shoo and let you do your own work.
* Order Desk had a big training montage so it’s stronger, faster, and smarter about variation and metadata matching. Unpacked: items with more than one preview image should be showing up in DTG2Go without any mixups now.
* The shipping class match feature got an upgrade so it won’t get tripped up by weird little edge cases.
* Productiv is now a supplier option that can be used with our VeraCore integration.
* Go to your [Store Settings page](https://app.orderdesk.me/settings/details). Hover your cursor over the area around “Store Settings” at the top of the page. ??
* WooCommerce is the latest recipient of our new inventory location filter, letting you determine what orders should be imported into Order Desk. In case you missed it, [here’s how it works](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/127-woocommerce#inventory-location).
* The Amplifier integration now supports shipments without tracking information. ?
* If you like exploring everything your keyboard has to offer and have email addresses longer than 50 characters, you’ll now be able to tell us what those addresses are in your [Store Settings](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/27-store-settings#email). Don’t get too carried away (unless you really want to, because nothing’s stopping you now.)
* The connection process for Fujifilm has been improved. Let’s see how that develops. ?
* Service level shipping methods have been added to FedEx Supply Chain.
* Phone numbers on Amazon Marketplace orders are being shortened to under 20 characters. You know, like we mentioned in that [blog post](https://www.orderdesk.com/commerce-news/why-do-all-my-amazon-orders-have-weird-phone-numbers/) above that you definitely didn’t scroll right past.![](https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/n4ttA6SjWAJTZlB7owvWaAjy7Y-7_a6652C5KcnJTbifQeahGuKcXt6_51QY5-KaJ3l8EdQe6Yunwg41Vf1BRfOI-_J0MCzXX7s3YqYCn3GWQQNQIealX5fMhsAC1nTrnw-2LFUb)
* Jondo Global has a few new updates. Pencils at the ready? ?
  * You can see your user ID in the integration settings.
  * When in Production mode, you can still send test orders to Jondo. To do this, set **testmode|1** as either [checkout data](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/390-how-to-work-with-checkout-data) or order metadata before submitting the order, and they will know not to send it to production.
  * A return address name can now be set on orders before sending them to Jondo. To do this, set **ReturnAddress|Hedwig** (replace *Hedwig* with the name you need to use) as checkout data or order metadata. You can also do this [with a rule](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/390-how-to-work-with-checkout-data#auto) if it needs to be different for each order.
  * Your artwork files can be converted from PDF to JPG. If you need this, let us know and we’ll enable it on your store.
* If you use Gooten, you’re going to love this time saving trick. As long as the item SKU in your shopping cart matches the one you set up on the product you created in Gooten, Order Desk will send the order right to Gooten and match up the right products there. This means you don’t have to add your inventory to Order Desk with all the print details. Check out the [Gooten guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/283-gooten#send) for details.
* We’ve got one TwoFlow two OneFlow updates to share. One, notes (such as gift messages) can be added to individual items. Set them up as item metadata fields called print\_note\_1, print\_note\_2 and so on. Two, you’ll see a new supplier in the integration: Superior Packaging & Finishing.
* Support for CustomCat’s new Embedded DPI feature has been added, which gives you the option to use an image’s original DPI instead of adopting CustomCat’s default of 300 DPI. This can be enabled in your [CustomCat integration settings](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/367-customcat#settings).
* Everyone seems really happy that orders can be merged together, so we added a cherry on top. In the Rule Builder action that merges orders, there’s a new optional field where you can set a checkout data or metadata field name that also must match for the order to merge. ![](https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/LoupMWFpyiq-wx9AddjRczTRRy576tT6l549EgtneYmzS0tf6qcARX3hIrdsu6Rl50PvjD51WyAje2tIXoWPQtg-YL5UdwRc5eoBXvtL823a6E99tMSNNjbJu9PZzRfeQ29iFw1p)
* Shipment notifications being sent to Walmart are more reliable.
* The PDR integration has more frequent appointment options for pulling in your inventory files.

That’s what we’ve got for May! Also, we know of at least one baby named Order Desk, so we’d like to apologize now that they can’t register their own domain name.

Anyway, see you next month! *The Order Desk Team*
{% endupdate %}

{% update date="2019-05-02" %}

## May 2019

It’s been a busy month around here, and we have a lot of updates to share, but first, we wanted to let you know that we’re going on a little adventure.

### Limited Support May 6th-10th

The Order Desk team lives and works all over the place, so for the week of May 6th, we’ll all be converging on a top secret location for a company retreat.

![](https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/oKyD63M89ucuSxUBEM9WUj5Ca4UO7jowi9gpXuAeKzG18YWXfvqoMyKDE-mI9T9A6_PL-R8d8xc_w_SvM3erISgeQ9EO3g7VWUrJ2LcI5Frab2VSMPLjmUPdC1FvsdcKf9SPunEo)

We’ll still be answering some emails each day and keeping our eyes open for any emergencies, but because we only have a limited amount of time together, our support will be cut back a bit and there may be a delay in some answers.

We are setting this time aside so we can make Order Desk even better and more efficient for you! We’ll be back to our regular US business hours on May 13th.

### It’s Louie!

We’ve added another Order Desk team member, and his name isn’t even Dan!

![](https://convertkit.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/pictures/575/2111367/content_Louie.jpg)

As a Pacific Northwest native, Louie has a healthy admiration and fear of sunshine. He loves to get out, rain or shine, to enjoy a hike through the stunning Oregon trails or the concrete curbs of Portland, Oregon. Since he doesn’t drink coffee, Louie tends to order tea (even though he would rather just get a hot chocolate), while he catches up with friends on wild and speculative fan theories for many beloved franchises.

### Feature Highlight

We’ve got **two** big new features this month. First, you can now merge orders in Order Desk! [This guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/559-how-to-merge-orders) will walk you through your options for doing that.

Second, we know that sometimes you don’t want all of your orders in Order Desk, however most shopping carts don’t provide a native way to filter products in orders. If you are using Shopify or BigCommerce, this hasn’t been a problem, but we have a few dozen more shopping cart integrations that are being used, too.

We came up with a solution for this and have rolled it out for Etsy to start. If it goes well, we’ll add it to more shopping carts in the future.

In the Etsy integration, you’ll now see an **Inventory Location Filter**. For this to work, make sure your inventory items are added to Order Desk, and add a name of your choice (usually the vendor) to the **Location** field:

![](https://convertkit.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/pictures/575/2111366/content_Image_2019-05-02_at_8.42.32_AM.png)

Set this same name in the Inventory Location Filter in the Etsy integration:

![](https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/k4X7MJl1RTYEqU14BEingedEY4l3la03AAV5aj45QfhuyKA767O1u4NZpkkzlY7VFVOEApw_rbzvLfIgr2NASGRFN41_ut-DPC0OEliUdqrdMILh6X66kF01igDH0_-H8ztw-EvA)

When importing orders from Etsy, Order Desk will check the SKUs on the items and only import the SKUs if they have the same location set in the item in Order Desk as you have listed in the filter. More details can be found [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/106-etsy#inventory-location).

### Bug Fixes and Updates

* Two huge new guides were written this month for all your rule building questions: [How to Work with Rules](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/396-how-to-work-with-rules) and [Rules Reference](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/551-rules-reference). Just don’t ask us how to tie a necktie.
* The FedEx Supply Chain integration got some work under the hood so it will be better at downloading inventory and handling shipments.
* The rule action to **Abbreviate State or Region** has been improved. This works for addresses in the US, CA, AU and NZ. Any states or regions in these countries will be changed to their two letter abbreviation.
* For extra punctual merchants, there’s now a condition in the Rule Builder to target the [current minute](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/551-rules-reference#conditions). It’s like when you were in school and watched the clock to see how much time was left in class, only this time it’s not because you’re bored and you want to go home.
* Speaking of time, we bet you can’t wait for this one! \*In 5, 4, 3, 2, 1… \* There’s a new rule action available called, \*wait for it… waaaait… \*![](https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/nVMpy5BmGWU67UVkVyniDLdVZy1y_kSEYLwd9J66Tvb_uTCbRdzLFBxBQ3FRZxOQfv43WAp25F_fFnZbn7EMI0wBiPDlfemUuBbcKzxlMM41Y9NXNqg7rv0aflvGRhsc1vDpoktp) **Wait a Few Seconds and Refresh Order**. (Bet you didn’t see that one coming.) If you can’t stand all the suspense, you’ll find the details on that one [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/551-rules-reference#wait).
* The admin email on your account can now accept multiple email addresses to receive [store notifications](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/27-store-settings#email). Separate each by a comma and everyone listed will get those notifications.
* WooCommerce can now import a single order status. Not to be confused with orders that are *in a relationship*, or *it’s complicated*. ?Details [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/127-woocommerce#custom).
* Shipwire got an upgrade to support new shipment check methods. Also, if you need to tell Shipwire which warehouse to ship an order from, set WarehouseID as checkout data or order metadata. Details [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/118-shipwire#customize).
* The District Photo integration supports DHL shipment methods. You can set your shipping preferences with the [shipping class match](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/235-shipping-class-match) in the District Photo integration.
* ShipBob was updated to add support for Two-Day shipping. You can set your shipping preferences with the [shipping class match](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/235-shipping-class-match) in the ShipBob integration. If you think that second sentence was just copied from the previous update, well, it’s okay to be wrong (but please don’t scroll back up to call our bluff).
* Import templates can now swipe left on bad dates. If your files have a date format that isn’t standard PHP, instead of importing bad info, let Order Desk be your wingman by using the date\_format manual mapping field. Details [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/35-import-spreadsheet#manual). ??
* These days, people seem to like when their tracking URLs show the correct information, right? Well, DPD UK tracking URLs should be created properly when shipments are added now.
* Wayfair orders will import with custom comments set as variations. And now, just like that friend who’s always there for you, Wayfair will have improved importing reliability thanks to some optimized API calls on our end.
* We fixed a super embarrassing typo in our rule mapping instructions, and now you’ll never know what it was! ![](https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/lVrIZ7PcSHCcP9i-EBQpcYL_7jK3p0J3cO_1N5tBycl5xciR_Wz3WOF8VIcgSD6scdiXS_-z70bxUM4owciqbgASJpzpvAedQSmOVEjTAor52KFpDbfddCQLHOtvq1BpNC2trGH4)
* There was a bug affecting code replacement with Mintsoft, so we replaced some code that was replacing the correct code for code replacement. We’ve also improved notification messages when Mintsoft credentials are no good.
* We straightened out Spoke Custom to spin a little more smoothly by automatically setting default shipping account numbers if required.
* If you need to send the original order number to Aftership instead of a modified version of it, you can do this by setting up a rule to apply **AfterShipOrderID** as checkout data to your orders. This will require Twig to pull the original source ID into the checkout data field, and will only work on a case by case basis depending on how and when order numbers are being changed in a store. There’s probably a pun we can add to this one, but we’ll add it Aftership.
* The Mintsoft integration was feeling chatty, so now it can communicate your inventory back into Order Desk. Details [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/445-mintsoft-integration#inventory).

That’s all for May! After tomorrow, we’ll see you back for normal business hours on May 13th. Try not to miss us too much!

## April 2019

First came shopping carts. Then print on demand and fulfillment. Now, we’re thrilled to announce our latest integration category: restaurants! Link Order Desk to your favorite restaurant services and order late night food (or anytime food) right here in the app. Just call us Hors D’oeuvre Desk.

**New Integrations**

![](https://www.orderdesk.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/april2019.jpeg)

**New Features, Updates and Bug Fixes**

* (Daydream) Believe it or not ? you can now select OSM as your default shipping carrier for The Dream Junction.
* Previously Burger Thyme was fulfilling french fry orders without frying them first, this has now been resolved. Cheese will also be delivered with the burger, rather than at a later date.
* Catalyst can now accept FedEx Intl Priority Shipping Option. Don’t forget to set up your [shipping class matches](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/235-shipping-class-match) when you use a fulfillment integration, otherwise they may not know what shipping methods you want them to use and could go with something more expensive than you expect. ??
* Printful now accepts up to 5 designs from Order Desk. High 5! ✋
* Fixed a bug with Burger Thyme that replaced mayonnaise with whipped cream as a burger topping. This mayo result in better imports.
* Unrelated, we creamed another bug that replaced whipped cream with mayonnaise at Citizen Cone. Ew.
* Hey Shopify merchants! In case you missed our [previous email](https://www.orderdesk.com/announcements/order-desk-update-old-orders-being-imported-from-shopify/) and social media posts, a tear in the space-time continuum caused Shopify to send old orders from the past into services like Order Desk as if they were brand new. Yeeeeah, we went ahead and cancelled the apocalypse by implementing a **First Import Date** filter, which prevents orders before this date from importing.
* WooCommerce got that **First Import Date** feature too, not because anything was broken but because it’s a good’un.
* Walmart updated their API connection methods for US Marketplace, so we updated our integration to keep it working for you. Checkmate, Walmart. ♟️
* The BigCommerce integration learned how to abbreviate states in Australia, New Zealand, and Canada, in addition to the US (which it already did). But if it really wants to impress us, it will learn how to parallel park.
* Do you like parties? Because Qualtry now supports third-party shipping. ✨?✨
* You can now send your artwork files as PDFs to JustVisionIt. We’ve also improved multi-item export functionality.
* Citizen Cone asked us to include support for its mysterious new Rosebud flavor, so *maybe* we did! ?
* Our PhotoUSA integration is camera-ready after getting some improvements.
* CustomCat now accepts embroidery products through Order Desk. Good kitty.
* If your store had some order importing integrations that ran for a long time, we cleaned them up to make sure they don’t trip over each other.
* By popular demand, our Donut Warrior ? integration now has an expiration date filter so it’s no longer possible to sell donuts that are over one month old.
* Let the spring cleaning begin! 3P Logistics got a complete refresh with a brand new API.
* The Dubow integration can now be toggled between live and test environments.
* There’s a new option to automatically remove barcodes from your orders before submitting them to OneFlow. You’ll see a setting called ?…**Remove Barcodes** in the OneFlow integration. Of course if your favorite thing in the world is manually removing them, then by all means do what you love. ¯\_(ツ)\_/¯
* We released Newegg last month, then we pulled it, then we re-released it to meet our quality standards.
* Now you can filter WooCommerce orders by country. And not to be left out, the **Country Filter** feature in the Shopify, Ecwid, Magento 2, and WooCommerce integrations got an upgrade. You can use it to include *or exclude* orders from specific countries. How does that work? Easy! Set it up like one of these examples: US,CA,MX ✅(import all orders from the US, Canada and Mexico) -US,-CA,-MX ? (import all orders *but* those from the US, Canada and Mexico)
* We updated our integration with Pete’s Peculiar Pizza Palace since pineapple is the only supported topping now.
* Some CustomCat products only have a single back print location. If an order for one of these products shows up in Order Desk and the artwork is in the front location, we’ll switch it to the back location to avoid confusion. Go ahead. Try to make it land on its back.
* ShipStation was calling USPS “express\_1” when they sent tracking details back to us. Now that we know that express\_1 is supposed to mean USPS, we’ll translate it for you.
* Stores with custom item sorting will also see the item sorting honored in their email templates.
* Some folks were having trouble with their banana splits, so we revisited the drool filter to improve the split functionality.
* Faya got some adjustments to make it work better. This update is on FAYAAA! ?
* The option to use ShippingAccount on Centrics orders was broken. It’s working again, so you can send your third party account number with your orders. Details [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/417-centrics#submit).
* FedEx Supply Chain, Wemalo, and 3BM walk into a bar. What happens? We don’t know, but at least they all have better shipment pulling support now.
* Do you want to see our update about the MailChimp double opt-in feature? ?? If yes, it wasn’t working before, but now it is! If no, pretend you didn’t read this.
* New guides this month: [BreadFinance](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/546-bread-integration) (Gateway & Finance) and [Origaudio](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/548-origaudio-integration), [Instafreshener](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/547-instafreshener-integration) and [FinerWorks](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/549-finerworks-integration) (Print on Demand)

We’re brand new to the restaurant space, so we’d love to hear your feedback about our latest category. Tweet us [@orderdeskrules](https://twitter.com/orderdeskrules) and use the hashtag [#fooderdesk](https://twitter.com/search?q=%23fooderdesk) to lettuce hear your suggestions on how you’d like to see us build this out and what restaurants you want to see integrated. We know you’re hungry!

*The Order Desk Team*

P.S.: If you followed the breadcrumbs this far, we hope you enjoyed your treat this month. We want to mention that [Bread](https://www.getbread.com/) is very much a real service, as is our integration with them.

## March 2019

February is a short month, but we weren’t short on updates and new features!

Our biggest news this month is about our BigCommerce integration. You can now send your orders to BigCommerce from Order Desk.

What’s that!?

TO BigCommerce! If you need to send orders to BigCommerce for fulfillment and then pull the shipment details back into Order Desk, all you’ll have to do is enable these two little settings:

*Historical screenshot unavailable.*

That will give you a button to submit your orders to BigCommerce:

*Historical screenshot unavailable.*

Or you can set up a rule to send them automatically. When shipment info is added there, we’ll pull it back into Order Desk.

**New Integrations This Month**

![](https://convertkit.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/pictures/575/1952811/content_March_2019_graphic.jpg)

**Print on Demand** [ShineOn Jewelry](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/499-shineon-jewelry) [Colorado Textile](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/541-colorado-textile-integration)

**Fulfillment** [EasyPost Fulfillment](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/502-easypost-fulfillment-integration)

**Marketplace** [Groupon Goods](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/500-groupon-goods-integration) [Newegg](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/501-newegg-integration)

**Other** [Imgix](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/542-imgix-integration)

**New features**

* The Magento 2 integration now supports [grouped products](https://docs.magento.com/m1/ce/user_guide/catalog/product-grouped.html). Group hug!
* We have a few other updates for BigCommerce this month. You can now send staff notes back to BigCommerce with a rule. To do this, create a rule with the action **Submit BigCommerce Staff Note**. In the empty box, you can either write in the note to send to BigCommerce or if you want the note to be different for each order, use: ![](https://convertkit.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/pictures/575/1952822/content_slack-imgs.png) and set our note in a checkout data field called staff\_note. If you need a refresher on checkout data, check out [this guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/390-how-to-work-with-checkout-data). We have also started downloading MPN values in products.
* The Dropbox integration got a default selection option this month. Now you can choose which field you add your files to more often to save yourself a step each time you add a file. *Historical screenshot unavailable.*
* We’d like to point out that the Dubow integration now fully supports embroidery options. Sew… yeah… we *hoop* you like it.
* If you are using the official WooCommerce tracking plugin, you can now enable the option for Order Desk to use it in your WooCommerce integration settings. We’ve also started to support some of their new API v3 functionality to improve stability and security.
* Shiphero got two new updates to make submissions a smoother process. First, if the shipping country is empty on an order, US will be added by default. Second, we will only be sending the last 32 characters of an extra long order ID to avoid problems with their character limit.
* Need to submit receipts to Wemalo? Be audit you can be and go for it.
* We’ve had a long standing issue where we sometimes have trouble reliably getting ShipStation shipments. It’s very hard to track and troubleshoot this, but we think it has to do with automated retries not being sent from ShipStation to our system. We’ve built multiple workarounds meant to go after and find the shipments they aren’t sending, but because it’s ultimately a ShipStation issue, our workarounds aren’t always perfect. With that said, we built another one improving the quality and stability of the import system that we really hope will make it feel like a non-issue for those of you experiencing this. Oh, don’t want to forget—we’ve also seen some issues lately where the uploaded ShipStation item thumbnail isn’t working well for various reasons, so we’ve added the option to have us cache the file on our servers before sending. This is only needed if you are experiencing problems, but if you need to use it, you can set the order metadata of cache\_thumbnail to 1.
* Exported files with up to 500 records can now be sorted by email using a custom parameter. Details [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/19-build-export-templates#parameters). Export templates can also now export order shipment info, which you can read about [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/19-build-export-templates#line).
* Here’s the scoop on the Rule Builder. Now you can: automatically change order IDs, edit order item names, and use the current hour as a condition. The banana wildcard split is now even better since we can handle partial matches on more than one type of code at a time. (Example: CODE|sku-1\*,sku-2\*)
* If you plan to use I-dika, you now have the option to configure the FTP server name when adding your credentials to connect the integration.
* Shopify got a smokin’ hot new date this month! *Historical screenshot unavailable.* That’s not the only good thing going with Shopify right now. Product downloads from Shopify will be a little more efficient to avoid memory errors. If they’re set in Shopify, the referring site and checkout ID details will be added to your order metadata. Look for shopify\_referring\_site and shopify\_checkout\_id.
* If you send orders to Shopify for fulfillment, you can now send a note along with them using ShopifyNote as a checkout data field. This overwrites the Original Order Desk ID details we usually send. Also, if you need to re-submit an order that came from Shopify back to Shopify, you can do this by adding **shopify\_submit\_override=1** to your order metadata. This can be done with a rule by using the action **Set Order Metadata Value** and applying the shopify\_submit\_override|1 in the rule. For a list of all the things you can send to Shopify, check out [these checkout data](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/184-send-orders-to-shopify#features) features.
* If there is any invalid Twig in an email template, the store admin will get a notification about it.
* You can now use Twig when pulling information from Order Desk to be sent to your Mailchimp lists.
* Send test orders to Cimpress before going live with the new test mode setting.
* If you have a team using PrintNode for label printing, Order Desk can now support session-based printer IDs, so multiple computers can be used to print your labels.
* DecoPlate now accepts a [second packing slip](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/376-decoplate#submit), gift notes and shipping labels.
* Faya updated their API, so we followed suit and updated our integration accordingly.
* Need a quick reference of your Etsy listing in an order? We’ll now pull in the listing ID and add it to your item metadata.
* Qualtry can now accept shipping account numbers if you set them in a checkout data field called ShippingAccount.
* You’ll see Payment Type as an option in Advanced Search: *Historical screenshot unavailable.*
* If you use the Walmart integration, you have the ability to use the Customer Order ID or the Purchase Order ID as the ID that we use to reference the order.

**Fixes and Updates**

* Twilio was only sending out text messages when shipments were added. It wasn’t you, it was us. Twilio now sends text messages on any event you choose, so we hope you’ll give it another chance.
* When an email template has an attachment field added to it, we’ll send an error message to the account admin (instead of sending the email) if the attachment doesn’t exist on an order and can’t be included in the email.
* The Change Shipping Address rule actions were missing some shipping address information—they’ve since been reunited. We also added a companion Change Customer Address action.
* The Red Stag integration webhook support has been fixed so shipments will now work more reliably.
* To avoid being the cucumber to CustomCat, we added a 2 second delay between submitted orders to ensure they arrive without errors. *Historical screenshot unavailable.*
* Whoops—we made a change to the Aftership integration that accidentally removed customers’ email addresses. That’s fixed!
* Pic The Gift now accepts phone numbers on orders.
* Solved: a state submissions snafu when sending orders to Centrics.
* If you are splitting your BigCommerce orders and also pulling in status updates on them from BigCommerce, we’ll make sure all parts of a split order get those status updates instead of just the original order.
* New order, who dis? We spotted a bug in Shopify when sending orders to them where the address wouldn’t show up if the shipping name on the order didn’t include a last name. Instead of seeing if they’d fix it, we put in our own fix, so now the material girl and Queen Bey won’t have any more issues getting what they ordered.
* No more secrets—our API will now properly show the order history when requested.
* Orders from DTG2Go will fail if they’re missing required parts. (That’s a good thing. It means you can fix the problem, then re-submit the order.)

We’ll see you next month! *The Order Desk Team*

## February 2019

Well hello!

There’s another holiday season in the books.

*Historical screenshot unavailable.*

We hope you pulled through the holiday rush (and that cringeworthy Super Bowl if you’re a fan of US pro football) and are ready to see what this new year brings us.

Over the past few weeks, we’ve made a lot of Rule Builder updates. In case you missed it, we totally revamped the Rule Builder at the end of last year. You can take action on items with rules. This completely changes the possibilities for what your store can do automatically. If you can think it up, it’s probably possible.

Also, you know how it was scary and reeeeally easy to mess up sending an email to someone other than the customer? Now there’s a new rule action you can use that lets you put the email address in the rule instead of in the email template, so you don’t have to worry about sending emails to customers by mistake:

![](https://convertkit.s3.amazonaws.com/assets/pictures/575/1876484/content_Screen_Shot_2019-02-04_at_8.37.42_AM.png)

Other Rule Builder updates from January:

* We sped up email delivery.
* Put the folders in Rule Builder dropdowns in the same order as they are in the left sidebar.
* Wrote out condition operators, so if you didn’t know that != means does not equal, now it’ll just say that and you won’t have to scratch your head at all the codey stuff.
* Gave the Rule Builder a red pen. If you make a mistake in the syntax of a rule, the Rule Builder will tell you, so you don’t have to guess and wonder. If you get an error you don’t know how to fix let us know, and we’ll help you out!

PHEW.

*Historical screenshot unavailable.*

**New Integrations**

* Teamwork Athletic ([guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/497-teamwork-athletic-integration)) – a new print on demand provider for athletic apparel
* Deposco ([guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/495-deposco-integration)) – a new supported WMS solution
* ShipCentral ([guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/496-shipcentral-integration)) – a new warehouse based out of the Salt Lake City area
* EasyBill ([guide](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/498-easybill-integration)) – download your EasyBill.de invoices as orders into Order Desk

**New Features**

* We know you use folders. Did you know you can customize the columns in your folders? (It’s true; click that **customize** button on the top right of the page when looking at any folder.) Well, now it’s even better. If you like the way one folder is set up, copy that format to all folders with the click of a button, which you can now find in the customize page.
* Someone gave us a really good idea recently. Why not add a filter to the dashboard so you can exclude orders you don’t want to show up in your totals? Why didn’t we think of that!? Click the cog icon in the top right of the dashboard, and you can add folders you want excluded (like Canceled, for example.) Folder IDs can be found by looking at the URL of the folder—it’s that number at the end. Separate multiple folder IDs with commas.
* Quickview links are now clickable! Don’t know what quickview is? Open up one of your folders and in the top right you’ll see a little “i” icon. Click it to see more information about each order. Or just click somewhere on the order line to pop down details on a specific order. It’s a great way to get a quick *view* of the orders in that folder. Anyway, all of that to say: the links in the order details can now be clicked from this view!
* Have you ever wanted to search based on the total order quantity? Wish granted! Check it out in Advanced Search. You’ll find Order Quantity as one of the filters in the dropdown. You can do >1 to search for all orders with more than 1 item in the order.
* Order Desk + Handheld Scanners = Best Friends Forever! Fair warning, you’ll have to be familiar with code to set this up (friendships can be complex, amiright?), but we’ve got some [more info here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/81-how-to-use-barcodes#scanner) to help you out.
* Two new export template options were added. If you add {date1} to your [export template file name](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/19-build-export-templates#details), the date will be exported as yyyymmdd. Use a delimiter different from the standard options (comma, tab, pipe, semicolon)? This is no longer going to be a roadblock. Set the new CUSTOM-DELIMITER:\* [custom parameter](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/19-build-export-templates#parameters) to tell Order Desk what it is (don’t forget to replace the \* with your custom delimiter, unless it’s \*, in which case…)
* Two new carriers were added so tracking links will automatically be created if you use PostNL or B2CEurope for your shipments.

**Integration Upgrades/Fixes**

* Magento now pulls in gift messages. You can also now set up a filter so only certain SKUs will be imported in orders. Details [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/25-magento#advanced).
* Magento2 also got a checkup this month—order importing and shipment reporting should be working a little better.
* ShipStation Import now supports filtering orders by tag. Details can be found [here](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/431-shipstation-order-import-integration#settings).
* We’ve made some updates to our regular ShipStation integration (the one where you can send orders to ShipStation). You can now change stores for ShipStation orders, which will cancel the order in your current store and then send it to the new store. We also now offer the option to do an Internal Notes Override, and created a rule action that allows you to set the destination store with the rule builder.
* Okay, so… sometimes you have a quantity of 1 for an item in an order, but what you really need is a different quantity to be shipped instead. Since you can’t change the quantity in the order without confusing your shopping cart, we came up with a neat trick. Now, for some integrations, you can add a new item metadata field to the item that will change the quantity without changing the quantity in the order itself. We’ll tell your fulfillment service to use this new quantity but we we won’t tell your shopping cart about it so they don’t get confused when we tell them you shipped a different number than they think you should have. This currently works for FedEx Supply Chain (use fedexsupplychain\_quantity), Gooten (use gooten\_quantity), PDR (use pdr\_quantity) and 3PL Central (use threeplcentral\_quantity). This will be added to more fulfillment integrations as needed. *Historical screenshot unavailable.* But seriously, if you didn’t get that and you think it might apply to you, respond to this email and we’ll show you how it works in your own store.
* If you use Amazon Marketplace for custom orders, we cooked up a summoning potion and can now pull in customization details with orders—both images and text. Less work for you! ✨
* Turns out that some fulfillment services in Shopify will trigger the fulfillment when they receive an order rather than waiting until they shipped the order. This would mark orders as fulfilled in Order Desk but not in Shopify, and then when the order was actually fulfilled, we couldn’t get the notification for it. We added a fix to look for (and ignore) this kind of open fulfillment.
* Do you like stability? Do you use ConvertKit? Oh good, because we’ve made some quality of life improvements to our ConvertKit integration! (By the way, shout out! We ❤️ConvertKit like seriously.)
* BrightStores can now pull in coupons that were used with your orders.
* BigCommerce will now pull in the customer custom field values and product availability description field. Make sure to have Download Customer Information and Download Extra Item Details enabled in your BigCommerce integration settings for this to work.
* Ecwid got a little lighter this month seeing as we’ll be importing weight as ounces instead of pounds.
* OIA Global now has more DHL International options to work with. If you want to use these or any of their other available shipping options use the [Shipping Class Match](https://help.orderdesk.com/article/235-shipping-class-match) to let them know.
* Hey Foxy.io merchants, you can now export your active subscriptions. Give it a try! Go to FC Subscriptions (under Custom Tools in the left sidebar) and at the bottom of the page you’ll see a button to export a file of just your active subs.
* We were sometimes letting orders get through to DecoPlate with invalid SKUs (whoops), but we put a stop to it by improving the validation process and hardcoding their SKUs into Order Desk. No More Mr. Nice App.
* Authorize.net can now retrieve the last four digits of the card number if needed.

And that about wraps things up! We’ll see you again next month with more updates, announcements, and maybe even some pizza!

*The Order Desk Team*

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://help.orderdesk.com/release-notes/2022-and-older/2019.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
