Order Desk can send your orders directly to Essential Artist Services. Read this guide to learn about the settings and options you have with the Essential Artist Services integration.

Integration Setup

To connect your Essential Artist Services account to Order Desk, click on Manage Integrations under the Integrations menu in the left sidebar. Under the Fulfillment tab, find and enable Essential Artist Services.

Alternatively, search for Essential Artist Services from the available integrations search:

Have your contact at Essential Artist Services contact Order Desk support to connect your account.


Once connected, you will have some settings and preferences to apply to the integration for your store.

Default Mail Class

Choose the default mail class you want Essential Artist Services to use for your orders.

If you need to apply specific methods for certain orders, match your method names to the names Essential Artist Services uses in the Shipping Class Match section below.

After Import, Move To

Select the folder you want orders to be moved into after they are successfully sent to Essential Artist Services.

You can use one of the default folders already in your store or create your own. Read the Working with Folders guide for more information.

After Shipment, Move To

Select the folder orders should be moved to when Essential Artist Services sends tracking details back to Order Desk about them.

If Canceled, Move To

Select the folder orders should be moved to if canceled at Essential Artist Services.

Automatically Send Imported Orders

If selected, every order that is added to Order Desk will automatically be sent to Essential Artist Services.

Select this setting only if all orders will be sent to Essential Artist Services. If any orders will not be sent, or if you need a delay between when an order is imported into Order Desk and when it is sent do not select this, and use rules instead.

Gift Message Field

If your shopping cart sends gift messages through to Order Desk, enter the name of the checkout data field where the message is stored in the gift message field to have the message sent to Essential Artist Services.

Checkout data fields can be found in the top right corner of an order page:

In this example, the field name is "message_from_buyer". Put the field name, exactly as it is on your orders, into the gift message field box:

If the message exists on an order, it will be attached to the first product in the order sent to Essential Artist Services.

Inventory Location Match

If you only want to send certain items to Essential Artist Services, you can set the inventory location name from the item in this field. Orders with items that don't have an exact match will not be submitted to Essential Artist Services.

To avoid confusion about which items in which orders are being sent for fulfillment, it is generally better to split orders than to use this field. If you do choose to use this field, please be careful that your inventory location names match exactly.

Shipping Class Match

If the shipping methods you set up in your shopping cart(s) don't match the shipping method names Essential Artist Services uses, they won't know what methods you intend for them to use. When this happens, the default mail class applied above will be used instead for all of your orders.

To tell Essential Artist Services what methods you want them to use, you will need to match your method names to theirs. This can be done in the shipping class match section. For detailed instructions on setting this up, please read through the shipping class match guide.
